Taunton Event: The Big Taunton Spring Clean

 

You might have noticed an increase in litter on your street, or along the route of your daily exercise or dog walk. Now is the time to do something about it and to send a message that littering is antisocial and will not be tolerated!

 

We would like as many people from all across Taunton, from Galmington to Holway, Priorswood to Trull, to organise a litter pick in your street or community during this event. Up to 6 people are now able to meet outside as a litter picking group but please respect each other’s space. Maybe speak to your neighbours and spend a lovely 20 minutes outside picking up litter, or put out an event on Facebook and invite everyone you know! Are you part of a community group, religious congregation, PTA? Why not get together! No matter how big or small, we would love to see you taking action getting stuck in to give Taunton a Spring Clean!

 

Feel free to use either SHOW ME YOUR RUBBISH or TIDY UP TAUNTON Facebook groups to spread the word about your litter picks, and definitely post up photos of your litter ‘hauls’!

 

As we get closer to the BIG SPRING CLEAN WEEK we will keep you updated with news and events taking place. We are speaking to a number of businesses around town for support and sponsorship with things such as rubbish bags and gloves, and possibly some prizes for achievements like most litter picks done, or most unusual find.

 

Tidy Up Taunton has a small number of litter grabbers to loan out to you for free to help with your cleaning efforts on a first come first served basis, so please get in touch to grab a grabber for your event.
